Purse continued….

Here is the wallet I made to go with the purse made for my Mom (in previous post)

This quilt is from the class I took last year from Kimberly Einmo at Road to California. I had to make my own design because I ran out of fabric strips (one of my good friends Barbara Sindlinger gave me the idea). This class was designed for using "jelly rolls" to make a quilt. This was a very fun class, and I would recommend anyone to take this class. I hope to get this quilted for one of my nieces as a gift for Christmas! Ha!

Taking a break...

I needed a break from machine quilting so I made this purse for my Mom. She loves the "bow tie" pattern. I am also making a wallet to match.
I also spent the day with some friends at the Pacific International quilt show. We always have a great time together. L-Rt. Debbie, Elaine, Barbara, (me), and Kathy.

Here is my sister's quilt completed. I made the label adding some lace from an alter cloth saved from the church we grew up going to as a family. My Mom saved some of the alter cloths and gave them to me. I was so glad to be able to use some of the lace for my sister's quilt.

Boutique fun...

I enjoyed making this wallet for the Guild's boutique. It has a zippered pocket at the top for more compartments. The book in the background is from one of my favorite websites, "Pretty by Hand" by Kristyne Czepuryk. This wallet is one of her patterns. This is a great way to use up those hexagons!

Almost there..

My sister's quilt is drying! Only the binding and label left to make and it will be shipped off to Oklahoma. Just a little late for her birthday :)
This is one of the items I have completed for our Guild's annual boutique. I love embroidery and this little tea towel was the perfect hand stitching therapy I needed!

Quilting room...

My Quilting room is finally looking like home again!

This is a storage cabinet my husband had in the garage. He did not have enough room for it, so I re-purposed it for my quilting room!

A birthday quilt..

My sister and my cousin both turn 60 this month. My Mom made this quilt top for the Common Threads Mystery quilt, and I quilted the top. The binding will be finished by my Mom. She wanted to give this quilt to my cousin for her birthday. I am still working on my sisters will be a late birthday present!

I fixed it!

After posting the picture of my sister's quilt, I noticed the "boo boo". So I unsewed!

Quilting again....

I am finally quilting again. I finished this quilt top for my sister's 60th birthday. Her birthday is in August so I'm not sure I will get it quilted by then. But as Susie would say...goals are good! My Mom also entered two of my quilts for me at the Kings Fair and I won two ribbons. Thanks Mom for storing my quilts during my move, and for showing them :)

We're in!We

We have finally moved into our new house! Unfortunately my sewing room is still in boxes. And no, that is not all of my stuff :) I am very excited to be moving into a larger room than I had at my other house!

Quilt Retreat...

I had a great time at Quilt retreat! Janice Minyard, Elaine Berry, Pam Larson, and Kathy Morrison are shown in the picture above. Debbie VanFossen and Barbara Sindlinger were also there. Barbara was the hostess!

We also spent time at the Madonna Inn at the Quilt Show. Barbara, Kathy and Adena Joseph enjoying a little relaxation time after the show!
Barbara made 3 of these table toppers, among other things!
These were my blocks I finished, only 14 more to go!
Kathy made these cute iron cozies! I want one!!
 Debbie's beautiful modern quilt!
Debbie also made this cute apron. Everyone was very productive, we had a great time! Barbara also brought the video "Call the Midwives". What a great show that was too! Love these quilting ladies!

Back to sewing....

Now that our house is in escrow, I can pull out my machine and start sewing least for a little while. Until the packing begins again (ugh). I am making my sister a quilt who turns 60 this year! I hope she likes it-she says she likes purple :)

I haven't posted in awhile, we are moving to another city-so packing has been priority. My poor machine is sad too. Although Lucy does cheer things up!

Kids stuff

I enjoyed learning how to use the new ruler I bought at Road to California.  I don't know if you can tell on this quilt, but the prairie points are blue and red. They are really fun to make with this new ruler. I plan to add the same prairie points to the binding. My friend Debbie VanFossen helped me learn how to use the ruler. You can also check out their website and tutorials at
I finished another baby quilt for my great nephew. This one will be going to Oklahoma.
Now on to the next project :)

Fun Fillers...

I took a fun class at Thimble Towne this weekend taught by Cindy Seitz-Krug. It was called fun fillers and backgrounds. I finished the machine quilting and now need to complete my stocking! It was fun to try new things...I loved using the silk thread.
The sailboat is another baby quilt I am working on for another great nephew!

Road 2 California 2013

These were my roomies; Debbie Van Fossen, Kathy Morrison, and Barbara Sindlinger.

Here are just a few of the quilts. Some of my pictures did not turn out, but what a beautiful show it was!

This is my friend Debbie's quilt, it was beautiful hanging in the show, what an honor!

And some of my "goodies" I found at the show... yes, I was "Bob's friend too"!!

I took a class with Kimberly Einmo. What a great time we had in her class. We laughed a lot, she was a "kick"! This is the most productive I have been in a class at Road :) The class was Lone Starburst using jelly rolls. This was my first time using jelly rolls, and I loved it!

Another Mariner's Compass block complete (except for borders, will need to wait for class for that!)

I am enjoying using my Cherrywood fabrics!

Mariner's Compass

I took a Mariner's Compass class on Saturday, taught by Anna Koelewyn at Thimble Towne. This is the block I made using templates. I am finally using my stash of "Cherrywood" fabrics.  I am enjoying the challenge of using templates.  Now, 8 more blocks to make!

I am love, love, loving my trash can given to me by Barbara Sindlinger (I think she said her father-in-law made these). Thank you Barbara!!
