En Provence Mystery

I am joining Bonnie Hunter's Mystery quilt this year called En Provence, link to her blog here: I really had to be careful with the Tri Rex blocks as my 1/4 inch had to be really scant!
I also had my quilt group "The Material Girls" at my house for our annual party and Challenge reveal. What a great group of talented gals!

Oh Mother...

For some reason, my Mom receives unfinished projects from some of her friends. She then gives them to me to finish. I guess she thinks I don't have enough UFO's of my own? Well, anyway...this one was too cute not to finish!
This swaddle blanket was made for my great niece/nephew to be. The baby is due in December, but they will not have a shower until January as they did not want to know the gender of the baby ahead of time.  A rare thing these days!
My Mom loves these purses, so I made her a new purse and wallet for her birthday. She requested black.

It's beginning...

This is a pattern from "It's so Emma". I love this fabric line called "Ambleside"
I made this quilt for my sister for Christmas. The center will fit her bed and the panels will hang along the sides of the bed. She lost her horse last year, so I know she will be happy to receive this quilt. It was quilted by Darby Meyer.
I also made a few Mug Rugs for my "nursing" friends. These will be part of Christmas giving. I am trying to get an early start!

Quilt Show 2016

Had a great time at the PIQF with my friends Barbara and Kathy.
I am always amazed at the beautiful quilts in this show.

This quilt I made for my sister who loves horses. She picked out the fabric.
This quilt was amazing. The bugs were 3 dimensional. Very creative!

Gifts and boutique items

My brother likes to make spaghetti and asked me to make him some potholders. He wanted the pot holders that would cover a pot lid when pouring out the water for the spaghetti. I was able to adjust a pattern I had and made these. The round pot holder is from "Purple Plum patterns".
These are cosmetic bags and a coin purse made for the Common Threads Quilt Guild boutique

I loved this pattern from "Pretty by Hand"s blog. These two bags were made for the boutique

This is from a pattern found in the Magazine "Quilts and more". It holds coloring pencils, and I will add one of the quilting coloring books that are so popular these days!

This bucket was made from a Pinterest site, but the directions were pretty hard to follow, so I kind of did my own thing!
Happy Quilting!

Metro rings continues...

We have two new babies due in our family. So I have been busy making baby quilts. (I have not finished binding this one yet)
One of my Nephew/Niece want to be surprised when the baby comes, so I will plan to make a "girl" quilt too.
I finished my Metro Rings. I really like the border and the small green piping I added.
Happy Quilting! Love when I finally finish a quilt!

Crossroads quilt along

I am finally caught up with the Crossroads quilt along by Fat Quarter Shop. The skates in the background were saved from my childhood…my husband keeps wanting to throw them out!
I really like Lori Holt's seem guide-it is so cute and easy to use. You can purchase it at Fat Quarter Shop, and view how to use it on Lori Holt's blog: beeinmybonnet

My Metro Rings is coming along. I am not the fastest quilter, but hopefully I can get this quilt done soon.
My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary this month. This is a picture taken of us when we were dating (we dated 6 years before we were married). One of my favorites, we were so happy and young!! (and still happy too-well, most of the time :) )
I also spent time with friends and family at the Clovis Rodeo in April. My sister rode in horse shows when we were younger, and she really enjoys the rodeos! (first one in pic)
I need to catch up on my Crossroads quilt along---happy quilting!

Making it Modern

Making a modern quilt is a new challenge for me. I have a friend who requested a black and yellow quilt. I found this quilt pattern and she loved it.

I started the Crossroads quilt along by the Fat Quarter Shop. Here are the first two months of blocks. The money made from this quilt along will go to March of Dimes. I am using Fig Tree and co fabrics.

Table Runner

It has been raining this weekend! I finished this table runner in hopes for spring flowers!
This quilt is from Sew Kind of Wonderful's pattern, "Metro Rings". I was able to use most of my 30's fabric stash!.

A long time….

This quilt has been "in the works" since my husband decided to move to a new town, starting a new chapter in our life. It is a Shabby fabrics Block of the Month that I finally finished this year.  It was fun to add all of the dimension after it was quilted. The pinwheels, the small little quilts on the clothes line, and all of the buttons. It was truly a labor of love I enjoyed.
